City Snapshot: 9,000 New Hotel Rooms Booked in Jeddah [Infographic]


The TOPHOTELPROJECTS construction database reveals that the Jeddah hotel market will experience significant growth in the coming years, with a series of four and five star projects underway.

Over the next few years, Jeddah will see 36 hotel programs with 8,837 keys open, our researchers report. We learn more about the Saudi city’s development pipeline and take an in-depth look at its most exciting projects.

Hotel openings in Jeddah by year

Only three projects and 814 rooms are expected to be completed before the end of 2021, the data suggests.

In contrast, 2022 will be the city’s busiest year overall, with 14 launches slated to bring a total of 3,414 keys into play. In 2023, nine other hotels with 1,826 rooms will be put into service. And for 2024 and beyond, ten projects and 2,783 keys are already in pencil.

Of the 36 hotel projects we are currently monitoring, 20 will be in the four-star category. The other 16 will belong to the luxury five-star segment.

The next hotel openings in Jeddah to know

Let’s take a closer look at three of the most exciting launches slated for 2022 and 2023.

Four Seasons Jeddah Corniche, scheduled to launch in early 2022, will be the first to open. When completed, this towering project will house 275 guest rooms with sweeping views of the city and waterfront. Showcasing SOM architecture and Richmond Design interiors, the hotel will also offer a variety of dining and dining options. ‘public spaces.

Next to watch is Vida Jeddah Gate, which is slated to debut in the first quarter of 2023. This hotel will offer 202 carefully designed hotel rooms in the heart of Jeddah Gate, the elegant mixed-use development community planned by Emaar Middle East. Its amenities will include an all-day restaurant, signature restaurant, bistro, event spaces for up to 120 people, spa and fitness center, swimming pool and kids’ club.

The latest opening to watch, which will also end in early 2023, is DoubleTree by Hilton Jeddah Al Salamah District. A 114-room hotel conveniently located just 10 km from King Abdulaziz International Airport, it will include a fitness center, outdoor swimming pool and spa. Guests can also expect to experience the on-site all-day restaurant, lobby cafe, business center, multi-functional meeting rooms, and boardroom.
