AC Hotels debuts in the Dominican Republic focused on design
Prolific lifestyle brand AC Hotels by Marriott has entered a new market with the opening of an elegant 129-key property operated by Highgate in the Caribbean.
This new property combines design inspiration drawn from the culture and history of the Dominican Republic with upscale amenities designed to appeal to both business and business travelers.
Business and leisure
The AC Hotel by Marriott Punta Cana now welcomes its guests to its 129 rooms, complemented by multifunctional public spaces, in one of the most popular destinations in the Caribbean. The program, created in collaboration with the investment group EGI Business Group, is operated by Highgate.
“With an ideal location, the first AC hotel in the Dominican Republic offers visitors elegant and purpose-designed spaces, modern accommodations and a refined dining experience,” said Jeff Tomczek, vice president and global brand leader, Distinctive Select Brands. “We have created an ideal environment to become a benchmark for hospitality in Punta Cana and across the country, which will allow discerning travelers to live by their design with everything they need and nothing else.”
Locally inspired design
The project’s interiors are inspired by the culture and history of the Dominican Republic, as well as the Caribbean environment, incorporating local ceramics, ornaments and crafts. And the brand’s signature spaces – including the Spanish-inspired AC Kitchen, the AC Lounge offering tapas-style platters with expert cocktails, and the peaceful AC Library – are all present and correct, too.
Guests can enjoy food, drinks and entertainment on the outdoor patio, which features an infinity pool with children’s section, cabanas and lounge seating. There’s also over 700 square feet of flexible meeting space, along with two smaller meeting rooms and an outdoor lawn.
The AC Hotel by Marriott Punta Cana, which focuses on leisure travelers, is located just 15 minutes from the Punta Cana International Airport.
